Call for Participants for Conversation Dataset Collection

The AIT lab (Institute for Intelligent Interactive Systems) at ETH Zurich is looking for interested participants for a dataset (named NCD) on the topic of nature conversation.

Collected data include:

  • Your face, upper body, hand gesture, eye gaze and speech during a natural conversation. All data are collected with a multiple cameras capture system. There is no contact sensor on you.

Requirement

  • You can speak English.

  • You cannot participate if you wear glasses, but contact lenses are fine.

  • Please do not wear any green clothing or accessories that are green in colour.

Time period:

  • Each data collection session lasts approximately up to 60 min each.

Payment:

  • You will receive a compensation of 25 CHF per hour.

Additional Notes:

  • A portion of the collected data will be released to the scientific community as a publicly available dataset. Please understand that your data (including your face images) may allow for conclusions to be made in relation to your identity (e.g. via face recognition software) despite our best effort to anonymise your data.

  • There are no physical or mental risks in taking part in the sessions. However, we will stop the session if you experience any discomfort or if you would like to withdraw from the data collection (without a need to state the reason).

  • We can only record at most two persons, so that we may contact you much later after your registration.

Location of data collection:

Heinrichstrasse 237, 8005 Zürich
