Biografie:
Leyla Chykulina is a Swiss actress and filmmaker of Russian, Kenyan,
and Indian heritage, raised in Zurich. Growing up between cultures, she
found her sense of belonging in storytelling. She began performing at a
young age at Schauspielhaus Zürich and has since appeared in over
20 film, television, and commercial projects, with work recognized
at international festivals.
Driven by her love for cinema, she wrote, directed, and stars in her first
short film The Magic Trick, currently beginning its festival run. Leyla trains
at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio with Claire Chubbuck and is represented
by Victoria Steven Management.
“Be delusional and work towards your dream” is a quote Leyla lives by. As an actress she enjoys taking on roles that challenge her and push her out of her comfort zone.
Her journey in acting and directing is all about pursuing her dreams and sharing stories that resonate with people.
