MAYNARD — LEAD ROLE

Age: 18–30
Height: Around 170–175 cm
Build: Medium / average build
Appearance: Soft facial features. Any skin colour is welcome.

Maynard is a kind-hearted young man who stutters. His speech has made everyday interactions difficult, leaving him feeling insecure, overlooked, and frustrated.

This is a challenging acting role. Portraying someone who stutters is not simply about repeating or exaggerating words. The actor needs to make the stutter feel natural, subtle, believable, and consistent, while also conveying Maynard's insecurity, frustration, vulnerability, and emotional growth.

This role is a great opportunity for an actor who wants to challenge themselves and take on a character that requires both emotional depth and careful control of performance.

E-CASTING / SELF-TAPE

Please send a 30-second to 1-minute self-tape including:

• A short introduction of yourself while naturally stuttering

• A few everyday sentences while stuttering

The stutter should not feel forced or exaggerated. We are looking for a natural and believable portrayal.

Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Shooting: Weekends in October

This is an unpaid independent short film. The selected actor will receive screen credit and footage for their showreel/portfolio.
